How much is the individual income allowance?

The amount of individual income allowance differs per municipality. Below you'll find the amounts per municipality.

Are you entitled to individual income allowance? 

To be eligible for the individual income allowance, several criteria apply.

Criteria:

• You are 21 years or older, but younger than the retirement age.
• You've received an income in the past 35 months that does not exceed the social assistance standard. If you live in the municipality of Berkelland or Winterswijk, your income may not exceed 105% of the social assistance standard. If you live in the municipality of Oost Gelre, your income may nog exceed 115% of the social assistance standard (see schedule below).
• The value of your assets dit not exceed the set limit in the past 36 months.
• You do not expect your income to improve in the foreseeable future.
• You have not received an income allowance during the past 12 months.
• You will not receive a financial contribution through the WTOS (Education Contribution and School costs Allowance Act) or receive student finance.

The criteria above state that your income may not exceed 105% of the social assistance standard if you live in the municipality of Berkelland or Winterswijk and may nog exceed 115% if you live in the municipality of Oost Gelre. In the overview below you can read what the maximum amount of your income may be per situation. The amounts mentioned are net amounts.
 

Applying for individual income allowance

You can apply fo individual income allowance by filling in the form 'Aanvraag individuele inkomenstoeslag' (applying for individual income allowance). Once we've received your request, we'll get to work. You will receive a decision by letter within eight weeks. The letter will state whether you'll receive the income allowance or not.
