Woo process

Information about the handling, deadlines and approach of a Woo request

As soon as the Woo request has been received, the 4-week period starts. This is the period within which a decision on the request must be made. Within Fijnder Your Woo request will be processed by the Woo coordinator.

Approach to Woo requests and contact with applicants

The Woo coordinator will first explore options for fulfilling your request without immediately initiating formal proceedings. In many cases, we will contact you to discuss the best solution and whether an informal process is possible. We will also contact you if a Woo request is too unclear or formulated too generally. The decision-making period will then be suspended until the request is sufficiently clear.

Please note: A request that is formulated too generally and does not provide clarification may be rejected.

Assessment

After receipt, registration, contact with you and continuing the formal Woo procedure, the requested information will be inventoried, for example in document management systems, mailboxes or disks and, where necessary, in physical filing cabinets.

Result

The documents found, such as e-mails, letters, memos, notes, reports, etc. are assessed based on the Woo, especially Articles 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3. Government information is usually public. If information cannot be made public, it is redacted.

Term

If processing your request takes longer, the four-week period can be extended by two weeks. If this is insufficient, we will contact you to discuss whether a longer period is possible. Naturally, this depends on the volume and complexity of the information. If the information found involves third-party stakeholders (other administrative bodies, companies, or private individuals), they can be asked for their views. Requesting a view suspends the decision-making period.

Decision

After the inventory and assessment, an inventory list is created and a decision is drafted. The decision explains why certain information will not be made public. The documents published with the decision will be posted on this website within a few days.
