Energy allowance for low incomes

Energy prices are rising. That's why the government is giving a one-time €200 subsidy to people on low incomes. The scheme is still being developed. Do you receive a Participation Act benefit? Then you don't need to do anything. You'll receive the allowance automatically. Do you have a different low income? Then keep an eye on our website. As soon as the government has approved the scheme, we'll post it on our website.

Contribution of the Client Council

An eventful year lies behind us. A year in which we were all restricted in our freedom, the ability to go and stand where we wanted.

The Client Council was therefore also limited in its work, in meetings, in physical contacts.
Our client contact day was cancelled and we held all our meetings digitally.
Let's hope that 2022 will bring us more space and freedom.

In 21, the Client Council was concerned with various subjects.
We advised to clearly state the possibilities for earning additional income in addition to benefits and to formulate and convey this transparently.

Not everyone succeeds, but welfare recipients are allowed to save while receiving welfare.
Savings built up during a period in which assistance was provided, is not included in assets. This is actually logical, as welfare recipients are already expected to set aside money for "incidental, generally necessary living expenses," such as a washing machine.

The Client Council gave its opinion and advice on the new collaborative organization to be formed 'Fijnder', the new work-learning company in East Achterhoek of the 3 municipalities.
The SDOA with branches in Winterswijk (career square), the back office in the town hall in Groenlo and Werkbaan Oost with the workshop at De Kamp in Lichtenvoorde Spring 2022 we will move together to a building at the Batterij on the Laarberg in Groenlo.

To this end, extensive construction and renovation work is currently underway. A public transport bus stop is being built near the building. The organization will soon be able to offer residents seeking work even more development opportunities. The main message is greater participation in society—"everyone participates." The idea is that a single organization can deliver better and faster, effective work. However, the municipality will remain the primary point of contact for questions about employment and income.
Fijnder will soon offer people the follow-up with its services. The actual Supporting them towards work or meaningful daytime activities. The Client Council will continue to monitor this positively and critically.

The Client Council wishes you all a happy and healthy 2022.

Truus Sieders-Wassink, member of the Client Council.
