Talking to your consultant
Work can take many forms. Fortunately, because everyone is unique.
That's why you'll meet with a consultant. Together, you'll discuss your situation and needs. This way, you'll determine which route is best for you.
Determine the route
There are three routes to help you find work. Sometimes, routes are combined. Together with your consultant, you'll determine which approach best suits your situation.
You have enough skills to get started right away.
Together we'll find a job that works for you. You'll actively participate in activities that help you progress, such as:
- job application training
- speed dates with employers and employment agencies
You would like to work, but you don't know exactly which job suits you or where you would like to work.
Together you will explore your talents and what you can still learn. Sometimes you need extra professional skills necessary (knowledge or technology you need for a profession). Then we look at how you can develop it.
It's also possible that you're already capable of enough, but you're struggling with punctuality, for example. We'll support you with that too.
Sometimes a disability makes it difficult to work (paid). In those cases, participating in society is more important.
You can do this through volunteer work or by participating in our sheltered workshop. This way, you can still contribute and participate.
Always evolving
Whatever route you take, you will always continue to learn and develop.
Are you currently receiving benefits and doing volunteer work? That doesn't mean paid work is impossible. We're always looking for new opportunities together.
New Sheltered Work
Sometimes the UWV determines that you can work, but that you have to extra guidance need. For example, because you need more time to learn something or because you work better in a quiet environment.
In that case you will get a place on a sheltered workplaceThis is a safe and adapted workplace, specifically for people who cannot find work for a regular employer. You work here with guidance and at a pace that suits you.
