Fijnder uses data from the National Intelligence Agency.
This is where information from the Tax Authorities and the UWV, among others, comes together.

For example, we use this data to check:

  • whether the information matches your benefit

Sample

We often use interview techniques to apply for social assistance benefits. This means you don't need to submit a lot of supporting documents. Sometimes we do a spot check afterward, in which case we'll still ask you to submit more supporting documents.

House visit

Sometimes there is something unclear about your living situation.

What you can always expect:

  • we politely ask if we can come in
  • we explain why we are coming
  • We explain what happens if you do not want to cooperate

If we have evidence that there is doubt about your situation and you do not cooperate, your application may be rejected or your benefits may be stopped.

Fraud

We expect everyone to be honest about their situation.

Are you being dishonest? For example, if you say you live alone, but you actually live with someone, we'll launch an investigation.

This research is conducted by prevention and enforcement officers. Fijnder or by social investigation.

  • Your benefits may be stopped.
  • You must repay any money received in excess.
  • It is being assessed whether a fine should be imposed.
  • In severe cases, Fijnder report to the Public Prosecution Service.
    A judge will then decide what happens.
